Kindergarten

Nant-y-Cwm Kindergarten creates a warm, secure and loving environment, rich in imaginative, artistic and musical activity, with songs and verses to reflect the changing season and the approaching of the year’s festivals. Activities include baking, painting, beeswax modelling and simple embroidery. A part of the morning is allotted to free creative play, for which many natural-material toys are to hand. A story told by the teacher, or perhaps given as a puppet play, rounds off the morning. Children are accepted into the kindergarten from the age of four or sometimes a little earlier. Attendance for less than all five days of the week may be arranged; there is also a Parent and Toddler group two mornings a week for children up to three and a half years of age. Please contact the school for details. The kindergarten has its own unique, purpose-built home: the beautiful grass-roofed building that has become a local landmark, designed by architect Christopher Day and built by voluntary labour.
